Ripples for Peace

What Does Peace Mean to You?

Join the Ripples for Peace Initiative and help create a tidal wave of change.
Like a single pebble dropped into water, one peaceful action can ripple outward—reaching far beyond its origin. Be part of a growing movement to imagine, inspire, and work for peace in our communities and the world.

A Collective Call for Peace
Artists Indira Freitas Johnson and Catherine Schwalbe invite you to participate in Ripples for Peace—a shared expression of hope, healing, and community connection.
About the Project
Ripples for Peace is a continuation of Ten Thousand Ripples (TTR), a public art and civic engagement initiative led by Changing Worlds, artist Indira Johnson, and a consortium of cultural and educational partners.
Using art as a catalyst, TTR sparks dialogue about peace, nonviolence, and social change. Ripples for Peace builds on this legacy by inviting individuals everywhere to share their personal visions for a more peaceful world—through words, art, and collective action.
We’ll provide the flag. You bring your voice.
Draw or write your wish for peace—on your own or in community—and add your flag to a powerful, temporary public art installation at the Ten Thousand Ripples site on DuSable Lake Shore Drive and Diversey Parkway.

How to Participate

2. Create Your Flag
