Journey Into Possibilities
Journey Into Possibilities connects the different spaces of the Lincoln Hall Advising Center through the concept of a journey and how students move and flow through the Center both literally and metaphorically. The smooth flowing lines and fluid nature of Journey Into Possibilities is designed to have a calming and nurturing effect on the viewer, encouraging and embracing new viewpoints and endless possibilities that exist for each and every student.
A fundamental element of Journey Into Possibilities is its three dimensionality. The variations in depth emphasize the movement of the ripples and undulations of the organic and flowing patterns. The interplay of color and line, light and shadow all contribute to the contemplative nature of the design and reinforces the idea of a journey through a physical space and points in time.
Through the combination of geometric and organic elements, Journey Into Possibilities creates a work that uses rhythm, action, and movement to balance form and shape in space. It captures the essential nature of the Lincoln Hall Advising Center, a place to receive support and understanding, a place to be listened to and be heard. Visually enriching in its design, it highlights the energy of the multi ethnic student body through the use of universal symbols that hold a rich multiplicity of meaning in different cultures.
